Version 1.0.4.5

Version 1.0.4.5 | The Update Before Noli
Hey hey hey, 100 days later and we've finally got a new update for AGASA234AM!
This update was PRIMARILY made to bridge the gap between the quality of the (objectively superior) April Fools update, and the previous, non-modified version of the game. So, I went back, and edited a bunch of dialogue, made some new sprites, redesigned Astro's hat because honestly it looked really weird, and implemented some of the BETTER changes from the April Fools update into the main game, to catch the base game up with the quality of the April Fools version.
GAMEPLAY CHANGES
- Added a patch log in game.
- Ported 2 Achievements from AGASA234PM to the game (Braniac-stro and Stage Fright).
- Updated the render for "Bakers Delivery" achievement.
- Added the ability to skip text at ANY time (in previous versions you had to wait until the entire text loaded to be able to skip it.)
- Buffed Astro's movement speed (3 steps -> 4 steps) (this is PURELY for convenience)
- Updated the ground and background sprite of every room to look a little better with a Gradient effect.
- Added an "Achievement Shelf" in the Test Corridor, allowing the player to view their achievements without going back to the main menu.
- Added a new room to the right of Toodles's spooky area.
- Added Vee.
CHARACTER CHANGES
- Astro
- Redesigned all of Astro's sprites to make his hat closer to his head, since I really didn't like how it stuck straight up in previous versions.
- Gave Astro some new sprites as well ("astroExcuseMe?", "astroFront", and "astroFrontAlt")
- Toodles
- Updated character sprites, completely new dialogue, just rewrote her entire interaction from scratch, since the original one was kinda outdated and trying too hard to be scary.
- Shelly
- One new sprite (shellyFakeHappy), and ported over the "You should Solo Run Yourself, NOW" gag from the April Fools version because it's just better than the original one
- Updated Shelly's dialogue after being mean to her to better fit what I envisioned her character to be
- NullShell
- Ported NullShell's sillier interaction from the April Fools version, since the game really isn't supposed to be taken that seriously.
- NullShell
- Glisten
- Changes to his dialogue, mostly related asking him about the Glisten Poster on the wall, and Vee.
- Dandy
- Ported all of his dialogue from the April Fools version, because it was just objectively better.
- Gigi
- Randomized Gigi's lines when talking to her multiple times, this change was originally in the April Fools version.
- Added ONE new sprite from the April Fools version ("gigiFitCheck" and "gigiBFitCheck")
- Ported the "Lucky Flintlock" and "knife.png" items from the April Fools version into her item pool here.
- Twisted Scraps
- Mostly unchanged, aside from a minor rewrite to make her dialogue flow better when asking about her Sniper Rifle.
- Hat Man
- Made him less edgy when confronting you about reloading the page, since Hat Man isn't supposed to be THAT serious of a character. Also gave him some chiller new sprites to match the event. ("hatmanDon'tCare" and "hatmanUnconcerned")
- Vee
- Ported Vee directly from the April Fools version, her dialogue is MOSTLY unchanged from there, but some of her Trivia questions have been updated to match more recent info (the question about How many achievements are in the game, and the question about how many Toons are in Dandy's World)
ALSO, some back end quality of life fixes:
- Updated the Text Engine to check if the next word in the sentence is too long to fit in the text box, and it will now AUTOMATICALLY skip to the next line to fit sentences properly without manual adjustment.
- Astro's "Size" variable now effects how fast he runs.
- The game now pre-loads a lot of costumes when first ran, hopefully reducing lag and crashes when opening doors.
- You can view dialogue sprites by holding "i" and pressing another key at the same time.
- Press I and / to open (and close) the Sprite Viewer
- Press I and * to view the Previous Sprite
- Press I and - to view the Next Sprite
- Pressing P will restart the game instantly, no need to talk to Hat Man.
- Pressing T will give you a Cosmo in your inventory, useful for skipping past gambling with Gigi.
There's probably a lot of smaller things I forgot to include here, but that's the main gist of it!
Unfortunately, this project has scaled up in size SIGNIFICANTLY, to the point where I literally can't even load it on my IPhone anymore. So, I'm looking into ways of optimizing it, so it can run on more devices.
